Argyll

We strongly recommend Argyll for anyone unfamiliar with Spey casting. The rivers are small and the salmon are easily accessed, you don’t need to cast far to cover them, anyone can do it. The small rivers of Argyll have been the scene of the first salmon on the fly for many novice, and not-so-novice fly fishers.

Perthshire

The River Tay and its tributaries receive more salmon running into them from the sea per year than any other river in the UK. It has a huge amount of fishing with well in excess of 50 beats on the main stem and many more in the tributary rivers. It’s a big fish river. The current UK record is 64lb and was caught on the Tay.

Edinburgh

Salmon trips are available out of Edinburgh either to the Tay or the Tweed, but due to the travel time involved we encourage guests to spend a night or two nearer to where your going to fish.
